The Hemenway Wall is located at the south end of
Boulder Basin and extends from Horsepower Cove to the entrance to Black
Canyon. Diving varies from a gradual slope (near the west end) to a
vertical wall (at the east end.)
This area is accessible by boat only and because of the
mountainous terrain, is usually a better choice for boat diving on windy days as
the mountains provide a natural windbreak. It is also frequented by anglers,
which makes it an excellent area to search for lost anchors and fishing poles.
The steep, boulder laden slopes along the middle
portion of the wall provide a unique diving environment. With the steep
sloping bottom, deeper depths are easily achieved for deep or technical diving.
